A New Digital Home for Black Women Work

Building Power, Preserving Legacy: How Places to Thrive Supported the Black Women Work Project

The Black Women Work project has long been a space for celebrating and safeguarding the contributions of Black women in academic, professional, and community contexts. Born from the Black Women Work Symposia, it offers a place for connection, healing, and imagining new possibilities for how work can honor rather than exploit.

When the team envisioned expanding their reach through a dedicated online space, Places to Thrive joined them in turning that vision into reality. The new website now serves as a living archive, a resource hub, and a platform for ongoing dialogue — ensuring the stories and strategies shared through Black Women Work remain accessible and impactful for years to come.

This collaboration is rooted in shared values: the belief that preserving cultural and labor histories is essential to building thriving, equitable communities.

Looking Ahead

The launch of the Black Women Work website is only the beginning. We’re committed to ongoing partnership, amplifying this work, and connecting it to broader movements for equity and community power. Together, we are building a world where Black women’s work is seen, valued, and celebrated.
